The Innocampus is being built in Bochum-Laer on Mark 51°7, the site of the former Opel plant. This is where Bochum-based Innolectric AG will set up its new headquarters in summer 2023. Innolectric successfully develops innovative charging technologies for electric commercial vehicles. In a strategic partnership, Innolectric and Bel Fuse – a US supplier of products that power, protect and connect electronic circuits – plan to focus on electric vehicle power electronics and next-generation fast charging technology.

Fressnapf, Europe's largest specialty chain for pet food and accessories, based in Krefeld, plans to establish its new location in Nörvenich as a central distribution hub for its European e-commerce business. With the construction of a logistics center, the company will create up to 800 new jobs in the Rhenish lignite mining area. The project developer COMPLEMUS Real Estate is developing the logistics center including an office building with an area of approximately 72,000 square meters. 

Switzerland has initiated ambitious infrastructure measures worth billions. These include the "BAHN 2050 Perspective" project, in which the country is investing CHF 29 billion in the expansion of the railroad infrastructure. The Braunschweig-based company matterr, which operated under the name RITTEC Umwelttechnik until 2024, is planning to build an industrial plant for recycling polyester (PET) in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 2027, 10,000 tons of PET-containing waste per year will be processed in an environmentally friendly manner. The investment will be in the double-digit million euro range. The aviation industry in NRW is developing into an important innovation driver: The Aero-Park is being built on an area of up to 80 hectares at the Aachen-Merzbrück airfield. The ground-breaking ceremony for the first building, Aero-Park I, took place recently: A 150-meter-long and 12-meter-high research hangar is being built here. Research and industry partners will work together on projects including the development of hydrogen-powered turbines to significantly reduce emissions from aviation. The goal: climate-neutral aviation.

The Japanese group Mitsubishi Electric Living Environment Systems (LES) has been operating a state-of-the-art logistics center in Bottrop since February. Located on a revitalized 57,200 m² industrial site, the center serves as a secure and sustainable storage facility for the company's wide range of air conditioning and ventilation products, as well as its state-of-the-art heat pumps. 

Mitsubishi Electric LES realized the project together with partners: Real estate specialist Prologis developed the logistics center, while Yusen Logistics, the Japanese global market leader in the logistics industry, is responsible for operating the new site.
